I thought this is a fascinating thing to know. This led me to think about the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People", in which Dale Carnegie talks about how it's important to praise and give your honest appreciation to people.

How giving a praise on their slightest improvements can change their behavior towards not only you but others as well. That made me think that we can create a positive Pygmalion effect when we try to.

Here's one thing that I've realized as I've gotten older, we really don't get compliments on our efforts enough. We are just expected to do the work and make improvements because that's just how it's supposed to be. So, following some of the advice from Dale doesn't seem like a bad proposition.
